Work life

What I spend my time on.

I’ve spent over a decade building for web and mobile. I still love trying new technology and figuring out how to use it in my work.

These days, I work on the Xbox Design System at Microsoft, building shared React and React Native components. I spend a lot of time on the unglamorous parts too: making sure buttons work with a keyboard, focus lands where it should, and animations keep up when someone moves quickly. I like digging into those details and figuring out what’s getting in the way.

My tools and technologies
Frontend
TypeScript, JavaScript, React, React Native, Next.js, HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, and Svelte.
Architecture and design systems
Component APIs, cross-platform UI architecture, design tokens, reusable libraries, accessibility, and motion systems.

Resume

Where I’ve worked and studied.

My career has taken me from India to New York, Nebraska, and the Seattle area. Each role has been different. At Viome, I worked on a healthcare app across web and mobile. At Microsoft, I moved into design engineering.

Engineering foundations

B.Tech · Computer Science and Engineering

I studied computer science and engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad.

I studied computer science and engineering in Hyderabad. This is where I started learning how to turn an idea into working software.

It gave me the foundations I still build on today.

What I studied

My undergraduate degree gave me a grounding in both computer science and building software. My coursework included web technologies, operating systems, databases, compiler design, information retrieval, software engineering, and object-oriented programming.

2013 — 2015 · NEW YORK, NY

New York University

M.S. · Computer Science

I moved to New York for my master’s in computer science at NYU. Alongside my studies, I interned at the NYC Comptroller’s Office and NYU Incubators.

I moved to New York for my master’s at NYU. Alongside my studies, I built applications for university research and interned at the NYC Comptroller’s Office and NYU Incubators.

Those early roles gave me a chance to build for people with very different needs.

My studies and early work in New York

Master’s in Computer Science · NYU

I studied at NYU from August 2013 to May 2015. My coursework included software engineering, network security, applied cryptography, programming languages, operating systems, and algorithm design.

Graduate Research Assistant / Application Developer

NYU Tandon · 2014

I built a web application to support a psychology professor’s research on human behavior, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also developed an Android version and released it on the app store.

Web Application Developer Intern

NYC Comptroller’s Office · June–August 2014

I built an application for tracking vacant cubicles, worked with the web team to resolve technical issues, and helped get it running on the organization’s server. I also documented changes and handled issues reported by other departments.

Front-End Web Developer Intern

NYU Incubators · January–May 2015

I built a WordPress-based portfolio platform for NYU students. Recruiters could filter student profiles and contact them through chat. I worked on the themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.

2015 — 2020 · LINCOLN, NE

LI-COR

Front-End Web Developer → Full Stack Web Developer

I joined LI-COR as a front-end web developer and later moved into full-stack work. I built product configuration tools, publication search, data-driven interfaces, and content platforms.

At LI-COR, I grew from front-end development into full-stack engineering. I built tools that helped customers configure products, find research, and work with their data.

I worked closely with the UX team and helped improve the systems behind the customer experience.

My front-end and full-stack work at LI-COR

Front-End Web Developer

October 2015–July 2018

I built tools for customers and for the teams maintaining the website. The work ranged from product configuration and publication search to content management and internal request systems.

  • I built a visual tool for configuring quotes for a complex product system.
  • I developed a publication search application that regularly pulled records from Zotero into a local database.
  • I built an in-house CMS using PHP, Symfony, and Twig, along with internal project-request and news tools.
  • I worked on cross-browser behavior, accessibility, performance, SEO, and workflows for the marketing team.

Full Stack Web Developer

August 2018–July 2020

I moved into work across the interface, APIs, and supporting systems. I worked on React and Svelte components for SaaS and firmware applications, and built the interface for a software-sales platform using JavaScript, Python, and Django.

  • I worked with the UX team on customer feedback, interface designs, and wireframes.
  • I built data visualizations with Highcharts and D3, and integrated services such as Box and Salesforce into a customer dashboard.
  • I launched a blog platform with a custom editor and tagging, and worked on content and analytics workflows across product teams.

Viome

Senior Front-End Engineer · Web & Mobile

Viome is a healthcare startup where I worked across the web and mobile apps and helped redesign the entire app. My work covered customer journeys, reusable React and React Native components, and the workflows we used to ship updates.

Viome is a healthcare startup where I worked across web and mobile and helped redesign the entire app. I worked on customer journeys, reusable interface components, and the workflows we used to ship updates.

My work across web, mobile, and the app redesign
  • I built reusable React and React Native components for the web and mobile apps.
  • I worked closely with product on customer journeys, analytics, and improvements to the experience.
  • I partnered with backend engineers on tools and APIs used by internal and customer-facing applications.
  • I helped modernize the web platform using React, Next.js, and Shopify integrations, and supported internationalization of the website and web app.
  • I led CI/CD automation work and improved the development and deployment workflows so updates were easier to ship.

It was hands-on product engineering: I worked across the app experience, the shared code, and the process of getting changes out to users.

Microsoft

Senior UX Engineer · Xbox Design System

Microsoft is where I moved into the intersection of design and engineering. I partner with designers and engineers on the Xbox Design System, turning design ideas into shared components, interactions, and tools that other teams can use.

At Microsoft, I moved into the intersection of design and engineering. I work with designers and engineers on Xbox Design System components, interactions, accessibility, and tools that help other teams build with the system.

My design engineering work at Microsoft

Shared components and cross-platform work

I own and evolve shared component libraries, working on the architecture and reusable patterns behind them. I built and published shared packages in React, React Native, and React Native Windows. I also built a cross-platform demo app for trying and testing components across iOS, Android, Windows, and console, and worked with partner teams to integrate the packages into their apps.

Interaction and accessibility

I work on the details that make shared controls dependable: keyboard and controller input, focus, screen-reader behavior, disabled states, animation lifecycles, and reduced motion. The interaction case study goes into the fixes I made.

AI and developer tooling

I built MCP server infrastructure and AI-assisted agent workflows for design-system support and developer workflows. I also worked on tools for inspecting and validating components, with findings that distinguish issues from missing information.

Engineering practices and delivery

I help define engineering standards, component patterns, and cross-team development practices that keep design and implementation aligned. I also established CI/CD pipelines and automated package release workflows using Azure DevOps.

Case studies

A closer look at my work.

Three projects I’m proud of, with the decisions I made and examples you can try.

Design systemsCase study + demo

Making shared components easier to use.

I reworked how components compose, cleaned up package boundaries, and helped teams migrate gradually instead of all at once.

Fixing focus, input, and animation bugs.

I fixed flicker during fast navigation when animations and inline style updates got out of sync. I synchronized the transition and style updates.
